Phil grew up locally in Calabasas.  He was a highly ranked junior player in Southern California.  He attended the University of Arizona and has a Bachelors degree in Economics.  He has been teaching tennis for over 10 years at such clubs as Sherwood Country Club, North Ranch Country Club, Tuscon Racket Club and Seascape Tennis Club in Northern California.

Sam Hammond, Assistant Tennis Pro

Sam was born August 7th, 1984 in Perth, Western Australia.  She began playing tennis at age 5.  At age 10 she was invited to the Australian Institute of Sport to train.  At age 13 she moved to the US where she continued to pursue tennis.  Sam attended La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks where she played #1 Singles.  By age 15 she was top 10 in So. California and top 25 nationally.  At age 16 she began playing ITF tournaments where she was picked up by Treyball Developments (owned by Will Smith).  Sam has played both the Australian and US Opens as a junior at age 17.  After being injured at age 20 she decided to start coaching the sport she loves.

Jeff Melnick, Assistant Tennis Pro

Jeff started playing tennis at the age of 10 and instantly loved the game.  He chose to stop playing basketball and soccer so he could devote all his time and energy into developing into a competitive tennis player.  Jeff was a highly ranked player in Southern California and in the nation.  He played on his high school and college tennis teams.  Jeff graduated from California State University - Dominguez Hills where he received a degree in Recreation Administration.  He has been coaching for 12 years and enjoys working with all ages and levels of ability.  When Jeff is off the court, he enjoys The Los Angeles Lakers, USC football games, trying new restaurants and travelling.

·      Served as a professional tennis instructor for private and group lessons for all ages and skills at the Westwood Tennis Center

·      Has experience in setting up and supervising holiday and summer camps, designing specialized tennis programs (i.e. cardio tennis, adult boot camps)

·      Assisted Australian Open Singles champion and Wimbledon Singles Quaterfinalist Brian Teacher in coaching nationally ranked juniors   

·      Founder and Director of Grand Slam Tennis which provides tennis instruction in Beverly Hills and surrounding areas
